One of Donald Trump’s co-defendants in the Georgia election subversion case is alleging improper hiring practices by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. In a court filing, attorneys for Michael Roman claim that Willis had a relationship with attorney Nathan Wade, whom she hired as a special prosecutor in the case. The filing does not provide direct evidence of the alleged relationship, but suggests that Wade is being paid more than other prosecutors and that they took vacations together. Willis’s office will respond to the allegations through appropriate court filings. The filing is seen as an attempt to undermine the legitimacy of the prosecution. Roman is charged with crimes related to his involvement in a plot to overturn the election results. The trial is expected to begin in early August 2024.
